MYOF receives $10,000 from Volleyball Canada’s Rise & Rally Grant
Maverick Youth Opportunities Fund is pleased to announce that it has been granted $10,000 through the Rise & Rally Grant administered by Volleyball Canada. This grant is funded by the Government of Canada through the Community Sport for All Initiative (CSAI), which seeks to remove barriers and increase sport participation rates for under-represented groups.
Through this grant, MYOF will partner with five organizations that work with marginalized communities in Ottawa to provide quality volleyball equipment, volleyball workshops for youth, as well as NCCP and Volleyball Canada training and coaching/mentoring for program coordinators.
“MYOF is thrilled to be working with Volleyball Canada and several community partners to improve the access to quality volleyball programs for youth within priority neighbourhoods in Ottawa,” states Sheila Roy, Chair of MYOF. “Our goal is to make a meaningful difference in the community by leaving a legacy of equipment and trained program coordinators and volunteers, as well as building lasting partnerships that will continue to enhance this program for greater reach and impact in the future.”
