MYOF’s Pass It Forward Campaign raises close to $23,000 to Help Athletes with Financial Barriers

The Maverick Youth Opportunities Fund is pleased to announce that it’s Pass It Forward Campaign, launched November 14th until December 31st, raised $22,855! These funds will be directed towards its Financial Assistance program to help athletes who have financial barriers to play volleyball.
We greatly appreciate the support of all of you who spread the word and personally donated to MYOF!
Your donations do make a difference.
Between September 1stand December 31st, 2024, MYOF distributed $20,703 to applicants who met the specific criteria for funding. These criteria included their household income and other special circumstances that may warrant the need for financial assistance.
By the numbers:
- $29,053 of funding was requested
- 21 applications were received – 19 applicants were given funding
- $11,742.50 was provided to applicants in the Provincial and National Programs
- $ 7,941.32 was provided to applicants in the Regional Training Centre Programs
- $ 1,028.30 was provided to applicants in the Learn-to-Play Programs
The need for financial assistance is ongoing. In the new year, MYOF expects to receive additional requests from Maverick athletes that may total up to $15,000.
