Sunshine, Community Spirit, and a Shared Purpose: MYOF’s 2nd Annual Charity Golf Tournament Raises More Than $25,000 for Youth

The forecast called for clouds and thunderstorms. Instead, we were treated to something much brighter.

Under blue skies and warm sunshine, more than 116 golfers, 35 volunteers, as well as many community partners and supporters, gathered for the 2nd Annual Maverick Youth Opportunities Fund (MYOF) Charity Golf Tournament.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of everyone involved, the tournament raised an outstanding $25,257 in support of MYOF’s Financial Assistance Program.

From the first tee-off to the final putt, the day was filled with camaraderie, friendly competition, and a meaningful sense of community. While golf brought us together, it was our shared commitment to helping young people thrive that made the day truly special.

We are very grateful for the incredible support of 20 incredible sponsors and for the generous donation of 38 silent auction items from Maverick teams and local community-minded businesses to help us in our fundraising efforts.

Every sponsorship, donation, raffle ticket, silent auction bid, volunteer hour, and round of golf contributed to something far greater than a fundraising event. Together, our community is helping remove financial barriers that prevent children and youth from participating in sport.

The success of this year’s tournament reflects what can happen when a community comes together with generosity, compassion, and a shared belief in the potential of young people.

A special thank you goes to our Golf Tournament Committee, led by Judi Shum-Mousseau and Caroline Workman, the MYOF Board of Directors, volunteers, and the many behind-the-scenes supporters whose countless hours of planning and dedication brought this event to life.

As we celebrate another successful tournament, we remain focused on what matters most: creating opportunities for youth to dream bigger, participate fully, and reach their potential.

Together, we are building a stronger community through exceptional youth.
